Privacy Policy of SimTec MD
in the Med Valley Game

SimTec MD inc. operates the www.simtecmd.ca website, which provides the game Med Valley.  Any references to the Med valley game include SimTec MD. 

This page is used to inform users of our game, Med Valley, regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our game.

If you choose to us our game, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy. The Personal Information that we collect are used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. 

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our game, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. However, this depends on the permissions and access that users provide to the Med Valley game. The information collected includes user ID, user profile, allowing in-app purchasing through payment information linked to your Oculus/Meta account,  speech-data recorded during game, and in-game statistics/scores. 

The information that we collect will be used to help users understand their level of medical  competence, improve the game experience, and for SimTec MD to directly contact you concerning our services. 

Concerning recorded user audio, the purpose of this data collection is to enable our game users to directly interact through speech with virtual patients as they would in real clinics. Users of our game have the ability to enable or disable Med Valleys permission to record in-game audio. However, enabling this permission provided a better user experience and skill transference to medical clinics. In addition to user experience, this recorded audio is used to train and improve ability of our speech system to understand user intents. This speech information is anonymized and will not be used for any other purpose than to continue to train our speech system. 

SimTec MD or other third parties associated with the Med Valley game will not sell any audio information purposefully or incidentally recording during the use of Med Valley. None of the audio information will be distributed to any third party companies associated with SimTec MD or its Med Valley game. 

Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security. However, Med Valley follows best practices in user data management and security.

Our Game may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. Children’s Privacy

Our Game does not allow anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, we advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately, after they are posted on this page.
